History of Our Club: Spring 2005
This Chapter of The M.U.N. started Spring 2005 and was organized by Jordan Van Dyne. Once a consistent group was formed
we tackled the constitution, reforming it until it was satisfactory to the whole group. Then we elected officers based on
their leadership qualities and willingness to be dedicated to the organization, some members had already put in extensive
time towards the development of the Club.
Throughout the year several members put time and effort into making our fundraisers happen, and keeping the group focused
and organized. We then as a group voted and choose a conference, which was the Model United Arab League conference. Ten of
our members along side our faculty advisor Mr. Coulter left the campus of CPCC for our first conference. This conference was
attended by (country-College):

those feelings of anxiety left as the sessions began, and confidence was gained. On the behalf of our CPCC MUN Club and announce

The SGA for support in all our endeavors, especially Amanda Capobianchi!
The support from all members of the CPCC MUN from beginning to end!
Fall 2005
In the fall of 2005 CPCC MUN attended the 16th Annual Carolinas Conference on November 3-4 2005. This was a first conference
for six of the eight members attending, so there was some anticipation on the outcome of the event.
We represented five countries in three committees: The Security Council, General Assembly and The League of Arab States.
In the first two committees we represented two countries Russia and the United Kingdom and Somalia, Yemen, and Syria in the
League of Arab States. In these committees we were up against UNC Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, Queen's University,
and UNC W, who are highly accredited schools to say the least. Yet in two days we were able to apply all the things we had
learned in our research and meetings with a successful outcome. We were able to take home to CPCC three of the six awards
we were eligible for.
The winners of the Awards and participants were as follows:
Jordan Van Dyne - Outstanding delegate of Russia in the Security Council
Walter Lake - Distinguished delegate of the United Kingdom in the Security Council
Muhammed Blanchett - Distinguished delegate of Syria in the League of Arab States
Meaghan Major - Delegate of Yemen in the League of Arab States
Lindsey Carter - Delegate of Somalia in the League of Arab States
